On 1 July, the British unleashed a massive parallel struggle in the Battle of the Somme, in order to divide the German troops and reduce the pressure on France. The Germans fell by 15 December. In the end, the front almost unchanged, despite the hundreds of thousands of casualties. The war was total and the calculations did not stop bleeding compared to that implied.
